DPS-bikes is a growing distribution company for big name brands like Dartmoor and NS bikes in China, since 2011. Songxiang Tang from DPS-bikes said: “There are a lot of talented riders in China that can’t afford a high-end bike frame. I wanted to build a quality frame that would be tough enough, but cheaper to buy than some of the other big named frames that are currently available. That’s why I came up with the DPS VICI”.
The VICI frame is designed with street and park riding in mind, however, it would certainly make an ideal all rounded dirt and street bike.
Songxiang has said: “The test rider will set this frame up with a Marzocchi Slope CR suspension fork, Dartmoor components, and a MTB freecoaster hub”.
If you look a little closer, you will notice that there is more to the frame than its good looks. The hydro-formed chain stays add rigidity and strength, yet keep the weight down. DPS also use a tapered head-tube, which allows for the use of a tapered fork. This means a stiffer and stronger front end, without adding too much weight to the bike. The VICI frame therefore means a good strong frame, that’s low in weight, with a low price tag, which looks sick..
It ticks all the boxes for anybody in the market for this type of frame. The retail version of the frame will be available in black, and is due for release in February 2015.
